FAQs Muzzleloaders

What bullet do you recommend in Patriot muzzleloaders?

With all muzzleloaders, the recommended bullet is the one that shoots the best. This is only determined by proper load development, however we can recommend a good starting point. Using a .45 caliber with saboted bullets the 250 grain star tip or star tip 2P is our first choice. Using a .50 caliber with saboted bullets the 300 grain STB & Crush Rib Sabot is our first choice. Please see the load data charts for powders to use with these recommended bullets.

For .45 and .40 full bore applications, load development with sized Parker, Fury or Pittman bullets is recommended. Typically bullets will be in the 250 to 300 grain weight range.
